Best way to get to Maret from Alexandria

We have a tour at Maret and we're coming from near Old Town, Alexandria. Any advice on the best route during rush hour? My head is hurting just thinking about it.....

We're applying for high school, so I think we'll do the metro thing on a regular basis if she gets in. However, I'd like to know a car route as well. Thanks! p.s. Love the helicopter idea. If only.....

The Metro thing will be brutal on your DC. What about Potomac or Stagnes or Madiera.

Interesting that it's Maret or bust, at least from a private school perspective. Would be curious as to why you nixed the VA privates.

It's not Maret or bust; we are looking at GDS, Sidwell and Maret. These were the schools that our daughter's advisor recommended. She currently goes to Burgundy, and SSSAS, etc. are too traditional for us. We prefer a more progressive approach. We absolutely loved GDS.
