| Has being furloughed changed the way you are cooking or eating? Are you cooking more? Less? Eating out? |
| Zero eating out. Pantry eating. Only buying absolute essentials. |
|
It will come Monday and no paycheck -- I guess I have been in denial.
|
| Yes, because the commissary is closed. We are eating out more and pantry eating. |
+1 Lots of peanut butter sandwiches. I've lost 3 lbs (not on purpose, I already have supply problems breastfeeding). |
| rice, beans. occasionally a little salt pork and a handful of scavanged greens. |
|
I eat more! only because I have some free time to cook hearty meals that tastes good.
I mean I spend a lot of time cleaning, cooking and feel like I do the laundry every day. Dirty toddler clothes, leaves found in the house, paper clutter. Organizing photos for the holiday. Overloading of cleaning. All that use up a lot of energy. So, need to eat. At work, lunch is not too tasty so I eat less. |
| Pantry and freezer eating. |
|
I am eating out a ton... My friends all know I am on furlough and find it a good time to catch up. I never have time for lunches otherwise, it's been fun.
Luckily, I am working out a ton too. |
| We're not eating out at all. About 75% of our families fruits and vegetables come from our garden. We're not giving away as much these days. |
|
We've minimized eating out, we've had one lunch out since the furlough started.
We're eating through things in our freezer and only buying fresh dairy products, fruits/veggies and eggs. I am starting to miss fish a bit and I'm definitely not enjoying making breakfast, lunch and dinner every day to be honest...usually the kid eats breakfast and lunch at daycare and I don't eat breakfast and usually just have fruit and yogurt for lunch, but am instead cooking things now since I have to feed the kid as well. |
