I found it amazing that the APS School Board recently blasted FCPS for not adopting quotas for black and Hispanic students seeking admission to TJHSST. This from a School Board that's been happy to relegate the vast majority of Arlington County's black and Hispanic students to a single high school, Wakefield.
All this will do is ensure Asian parents with bright kids will continue to prefer Fairfax to Arlington, since Asian students would be penalized the most by the type of quotas that APS wants FCPS to adopt, and presumably will adopt if and when APA creates its own STEM school for Arlington students. |
So do you have a problem with the school board relegating them to a single school or do you have a problem with the school board possibly, maybe using quotas to help spread them out to a future imaginary school? |

The APS officials come across as so whiny in this article. It also seems blatantly political. There aren't many Asians in Arlington, so of course they want more non-Asians admitted to TJ instead. |
