My husband is working late again and I wanted to brainstorm for some ideas for places to go to outside with my 9 month old during the evenings, after 5pm until bedtime, for tomorrow and other future days. I usually go to grocery stores or walk around Target or nearby malls. My friends are all home getting dinner ready or spending time with their husbands.
Any ideas? Thank you! |
Are you me?? Where do you live? My husband works late and travels and I have a hard time keeping my energy up for playing on the floor every evening--I miss pool and playground weather already! |
I totally understand! If it's nice (even if cold), we usually go to the park in the late afternoon/early evening (like until 5:30 or 6).
Some of the malls have indoor playgrounds (Wheaton and Montgomery County for sure -- I don't know about ones in other places). The library is usually a good bet -- you can read books, or just let your LO crawl around. Some libraries have little play sections in their kids' area, too. |
Another option (if you have the energy!) might be to go swimming at an indoor pool. A lot of them have baby pools (although your LO probably isn't walking yet, this is great when they are), and you can also just take your LO in with you to the larger pool (just hold on tight!). |
Or how about a kid-friendly restaurant? |
We usually start the evening routine around 4 at the park, go home for solids at 5/5:30ish, then bath, story, bottle, and bed. That gets us through to 7 or 7:30. What time does your LO go down? |
Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center was fun when DS was that age, and became even more fun when he was old enough to toddle.
Barnes and Noble was another hit. |
