Why do I periodically lose connection on opad but not iPhone?

I prefer to use my iPad but I keep losing connection when I change pages or topics. The error message I get is 502-bad gateway.
I refresh a few times and regain my connection but it's happening several times a day now. I also clear history, cache etc like you suggested last time. I don't have this problem with any other website.

Am I correct that you are using your iPad over cellular and not wifi? I think I have an idea what the problem is, but I just want to confirm.

I use it both over cellular (when I'm out) and wifi (at home) though there are some areas of my house where I do not get good wireless connection and it switches to cellular so maybe 50/50.

What is confusing to me is there error message you are receiving. "Bad Gateway" is caused when one server is unable to communicate properly with a another server. In a normal connection to DCUM, your browser would connect to the DCUM front-end server, which in turn connects to the DCUM back-end server. If something is wrong with the back-end server, the front-end server will send a "Bad Gateway" response. If you are behind some sort of web proxy server, that server could also send a "Bad Gateway" response if it could not connect to the DCUM front-end server. I don't see any of these errors logged, so I don't think it is an issue between the front and back-end DCUM servers.

Therefore, I think that when you get this error, you are behind a proxy server. Such a server is probably being used by your Internet service provider. For some reason, that server is having trouble connecting to DCUM. To test this, the next time you see the problem, check whether you are using wifi or cellular. Then, if possible, switch to the other and see if the problem goes away. Let me know the results of this. My suspicion is that the problem is only with the cellular connection and not wifi, though I could be wrong.
