It depends on your school. Our school opens the doors at 8:45, but some people send their kids over really early because the parents have to go to work, and can't afford before care. The poor kids have to stand out front in all kinds of weather until the doors open.

Our school is constantly telling parents not to drop off before the doors are open..there is no supervision.

Last year I found a little boy sitting outside the school crying on a day that school was closed. His mother had dropped him off at 7:30, doors typically open at 9:00 for a 9:20 start. He was frozen, had peed in his pants, and was hungry.
Luckily we found a teacher inside. She knew who he was and said multiple calls to parents hadn't stopped the 7:30 drop offs. The office staff typically just let him inside. But when the office was closed, he was just left. Talk about sad.

I'm guessing that she was driving by. what is wrong with that parent that left her kid? Her priorities are messed up.

When does school start, OP? I teach elem school and our doors open at 8:30 for 8:50 start time. There's always a line by then. At 8:15, there are usually one or two cars waiting.
