How much do you pay your in-home day care provider?

Hi, My 19 month old will be starting at a new in home daycare in Jan 2009. The rate for 10 hours is $200.00 with $5.00 for each additional hour. This includes all meals and snacks. The rate drops to $180.00 once she turns 2 years old and then once she is fully potty trained it turns to $160.00. This is in Silver Spring, MD.

We're in Alexandria VA (22306) and pay $200/week but soon to be increased to $230. I think it's a bargain. There are 5-6 kids and one assistant.

We pay $265 in Alexandria, Va and it was one of the cheapest we looked at. Does not include meals or snacks. Open from 7 to 6. 10 kids and the provider has 2 assistants.

50 hours per week? Or you pay 200.00 for only 10 hours per week?

$250 per week until she turns 2. Then it will drop to I think $215. But at that point I will be moving her to the center where my older kids go, so their rates will drop another $15 per week per kid, so my overall costs will drop at that point.

For the two previous posters with in-home providers in Alexandria (who posted 11/25 at 15:48 and 11/26 at 13:13), would you be willing to share information about your in-home providers? I am currently pregnant and looking for recommended in-home providers who could provide infant care starting in late September/early October 2009. Any help would be much appreciated!

I live in the Kingstowne area and am also intereted in a recommendation for an in-home provider starting in June. I found a bunch of providers on the Fairfax County web site, but I'd feel better getting a referral from someone. Also, my current plan is to work 3 days a week for 2 months (starting in June) and then go back to full-time again in August. Do in-home providers consider part-time? Thanks for your help.
