My second grader told me he was told to go into a room with his classmates and all of them had to sit at computers and put on headsets and take what he calls a math test. He said there were addition/subtraction/shapes/multiplication & division. - A lot of it they haven't covered in class and since they received their report card last week, I was wondering if this was some sort of standardized testing. |
Probably MAP-M. |
MAP-P. MAP-M and MAP-R don't start until third grade, as I understand. |
Map-p is the test. It is given to k-2 graders in the county. |
what is the difference between MAP-P and MAP-M? Are both math tests? |
OP here. DS, said that there were no reading or language questions - all math. I understand that MAP-P includes all early primary skills - phonological awareness, number sense computation etc. If they are giving him MAP -M in 2nd grade, how does one interpret score - he seems to think he did well - but he also thought he was being sent in there to play video games (ah to be as carefree as a 7 year old) |
OP, I think that the best thing to do is to e-mail the teacher and ask. |
My first grader took this test yesterday. I had no idea about it. I thought the county informed parents of testing. |
I think its MAP-P. I asked the teacher for the scores last year and she never got them. |
