Is he taking a salary without working?
Does he think that he should just leave it all for Obama to take care of? If so, maybe he should just skip along back to Texas now and let the Obamas start to hang their own curtains. |
Are you kidding? I don't think most lame-duck presidents would push through passage of the huge bailout plan he's captained. |
Umm, maybe you don't get a daily paper OP? He was in Asia this weekend, had a press statement this afternoon in front of all news cameras with Paulson about how he is keeping Obama in the loop on stuff like Citi - last week he met with the G## (pick a number, think 20 now) for an economic summit in DC... hardly a vacation I would think.
If he could move yesterday I am sure he would - this situation is no fun for either Bush or Obama. I wish OP would recognize the incredible level of decorum and cooperation Bush has extended to the next President - something he certainly never received. |
I'd like to say this in a way that does not sound bitchy, but I'm not sure I can: I'm glad to see Bush handing the country over with more grace than Clinton did; I just wish the country he's handing over were in half as good shape as it was when Clinton handed it to him. |
Likewise, although let's all agree that there is blame on both sides of the aisle (and on both Main Street and Wall Street) for the economic disaster we're in. |
very succinctly worded and not bitchy in the least bit I fully agree. |
Doesn't anyone remember the huge tech bubble blowout right at the end of Clinton's second term? My investments were not fully recovered before 911. |
You mean the one that happened when I had a lot invested in science and technology funds? Yes, I remember it well. ![]() |
I remember it well. Don't you long for the good old days when one part of the economy could collapse without taking the rest along? |
I am so sick of the Bush bashing. enough already. |
And here's hoping that Obama is still not futzing with the Senate over Cabinet confirmations next August. I am sure Bush knows that if continuity of govt. had been a big concern of both the Clinton administration and the Senate, 911 warning signs might have been noticed sooner (although I am not convinced that our imagination was sufficient at the time to see planes going into towers). When there is no one in charge, or that person is sitting days on end in confirmation hearings, stuff gets missed. Senate - let's see you step up to the plate too. I don't want a repeat! |
There can never be enough Bush bashing, especially for those who have lost loved ones in Iraq, including untold (and under-counted by the Bush administration) thousands of Iraqis. Our environment will never recover from the damage wrought by this wretched administration. Katrina victims, Guantanamo, miners who died because the Bush administration put mining officials in charge of weakening regulations.... I've blocked out the horrors wrought by the deregulation craze of these people. Oh, yeah, the current economic crisis... I can't go on because it's all dreadful, and many, many people (not wealthy ones) have suffered because of Bush et all. This administration is the worst in history and Bush deserves full credit for that dismal superlative. Bash on and on and on, and kick the man on the way out. If you are sick of it, don't read it. |
that's et al. sorry 7th grade latin teacher |
Bush has spent more time on vacation than any other modern day president. . . |
Hasn't that been the case over the past two terms? Dubya has spent most of his time in Crawford, TX and not in DC. He's been asleep on the job and left it all to Cheney. |
