I bought a pack with 3 per my 3y old request last Monday and now they are sitting on my fridge and I have no idea of what else to cook as a main dish.
We don't own a grill so they will be cooked on salty water and served with butter, and during the summer we had some of those as snacks while on farmer's market. I have no steaks or pork at home right now and would rather not visit the grocery store until we finish what we have at home. So, any ideas? |
| Scrape off the kernels into a salad. |
| What do you have on hand? |
| Chicken, salad ingredients, rice, pasta, bread, tortilla, beans, butternut squash, broccoli. |
| ^^ op here |
| If by salad ingredients you mean tomato and lettuce, I would definitely lean toward chicken tacos/burritos. If the beans you have are black or pinto beans, I would do a seasoned rice side with the beans and corn kernels mixed in. But just corn on the cob would be good as a side, too. |
| You really need to ask this question? You don't know what you can serve? Corn on the cob can go on the side of anything pretty much. It's delicious! |

Got any hot dogs? Hot dogs, corn, salad.
Don't have hot dogs? How about oven bbq chicken? Is the chicken already cooked? Pasta salad with chicken and broccoli. |
| Chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, salad, fish. Whatever you want. It might be weird with lasagna but, hey, it's just your family so be as weird as you want! |
| Thanks guys!! |
| return the corn |

I second the hot dog and firmly reject the idea of scraping the kernels off. Sheesh. Your kid requested them and probably wants to eat it on the cob!
Just cut those mofos in half before you cook them. Easier for little kids. Stick fancy toothpicks in the ends if you don't have the cob handles. We have the cob handles but we are high rollers. |

Good advice, clearly from a DCUM regular. |
| Yep, two days late and without having really read the thread...a DCUM regular for sure. |
| I microwave them and stick them in my kid's lunchbox. So, I guess he eats them with any lunch kind of food. Recently he's been stuck on chicken caesar salad for lunch, but I've sent corn with sandwiches, or vegetarian chicken nuggets. . . . |
