What to do with freezer stash? (DC has unspecified allergies/sensitivity)

Anonymous
I have a freezer stash and dd is almost 7 months. A lot of the milk is from a few months ago, before we discovered she has some sort of allergy/sensitivity. Should I save it for a few more months and see if she can tolerate it then? Or just toss it?

Don't toss it!!! Donate it on Human Milk for Human Babies or Eats on Feets. You can find the local DC chapters on Facebook.

I'll take it for my 7 month old DD!

Donate it locally or go through Milkin' Mamas.

Eats on Feets! There are many mamas who will gladly take your stash. They have a Facebook page and its incredibly easy- just like the page, then post how much you have and that you're in the DC area. A mother who needs it will then send a message to your 'other' fb message center.

you will be shocked at the number of people who are looking for donor milk. I always wished I had more to give.

Human Milk for Human Babies Virginia has a FB page. Lots of local parents are looking for donor milk for their children. It's nice to be able to donate directly to a needy baby rather than to an organization that will charge (a hefty fee!) for donated milk.

How old is the milk? Look up freezer guidelines and see if it is worth saving. DS had a milk protein allergy and grew out of it. At 14 months we are using the freezer stash and I don't pump.

I had this problem with my DD. I basically tossed everything else from my freezer so I could store the milk. DD finally outgrew her allergy/sensitivity by six months and I was able to use the frozen milk to supplement what I pump every day.

How did you know they'd grown out of it? I still found a little blood in DDs stool a few weeks ago when I tried to reintro allergens, so I went back on my crazy diet, in moderation. So I have some allergens, but not a lot. She seems to be doing okay...

We had his stool tested at the pediatrician's every few weeks. I introduced baked milk products first, hen cheese and finally milk.
