My daughter just turned 4 and got the Smart Cycle from her grandma. I was so excited for the toy b/c of the ability to learn and exercise at the same time and I have to say I am already disappointed!
There are only 1-2 games per cartridge that you are using the Smart Cycle for "exercise". And so far all of the games we've tried (the cartridge it came with and the Barbie game) are too easy. She already knows letters, shapes, colors, phonics, and counting. She is not bored yet (we just set it up), but I can see it coming a mile away. Does anyone have this toy? Is your child bored yet? Would you recommend it? TIA |

Hmm. Well, there are games for 5-7 year olds that you buy - that may be a little more engaging.
Also, there are actually more than 2 games per cartridge. You have to press one of the buttons near the joystick to get there. Play around with it and you'll find them. There are least 8 or 9 games per cartridge. But yeah, my 4 year old does get a little bored with it sometimes. I think we may get him some of the 5-7 year old games for Christmas. |

I didn't mean that there are only 2 games per cartridge, I meant two games where she is pedaling per cartridge. The rest of the games use the joystick not the bike.
I don't know if I should disassemble and return before it's too late, or keep it and try the harder games, which by the descriptions seems to just be the Hot Wheels game. The Barbie game is for 4-6 y.o. |
