Next year is our 10th anniversary and we're considering going to these three countries. Our anniversary is in early Oct. but we could go really any time of the year except summer.
England- I know it seems like a boring and obvious choice, but it has some sentimental value, as we got engaged there and I've lived in several cities and have friends all around the country. I'd love to take DH back to go places outside of London, etc. Plus, I know it's vegetarian-friendly. Portugal- I've been a long time ago and was a meat-eater then. Anyone know what the shoulder seasons are? Croatia- neither of us has been...and I fear the cuisine isn't very veg-friendly, but I don't know that for sure. What would be a good time to go? |
| Do you eat fish? If so then plenty of excellent seafood in Portugal. Also how long are you going? If for a week you could fly direct to London for 2-3 nights and then go to Portugal or Croatia for the remaining 3-4 nights. |

When are you going?
If April through October, go to London. Do day trips. Then do a 2 to 3 day to Dubrovnik. I flew there nonstop from London on Croatian air. I am not veg but wound up eating pizza or pasta during my time there. Lots of Italian-ish food. |
You will eat very well in Croatia -- I hope you won't miss out on the seafood, but you would not have trouble eating w/out fish or meat there. Is truly a lovely destination. |
| I would go to Croatia in the spring. We went in early June and it was way too hot. |
I went to Dubrovnik and July and loved it. Its certainly not any hotter than DC - much cooler, when I was there. My hotel had CAC though. |
What? In Croatia, spring is considered off season. I have been there many times and I would only do summer. |

Do you want to shop at Boots the Chemist?
Only England has this. Farmacia or farmaceut is no same. |
| We went to Portugal for our honeymoon in October. The weather was perfect. I did not have trouble with food, just ask for a veg option, they are very accommodating. |
