Didn't want to hijack the maultaschen thread, so here's a new one. If someone knows a deli or restaurant where I can procure any of the following, I'd be very grateful:
Fresh pork pies Bitterballen Turo Rudi Pastitsio Thanks. |
| Pastitsio you can get from the Greek deli on 19th street. |
For packaged food like candy bars, try Rodman's at 5100 COnnecticut in DC
sorry , that's rodmans at 5100 wisconsin in dc
| You can get Pastitsio at My Big Fat Greek Deli In Silver Spring. |
| Thanks for the pastitsio tip. I made it once. It took all day, messed every pot I owned and tasted fantastic. The clean up session afterwards is not something I wish to repeat at eight months pregnant  |

I have never seen fresh pork pies in the US. If you find a source, tell me!
Have you checked out the food aisles at World Market? They have a lot of imported stuff (although shelf-stable only). |
Rodman's might have Turo Rudi, according to this link: https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=202450346474266

Well, it's a long way to the shop ... (ten points for anyone who can finish the line) |
