Lately I've been getting more coupons in the mail from the big grocery stores, including a couple for $20 off from Safeway and a month of weekly $5 off coupons plus free items Giant. I see that Harris Teeter has upped its weekly $5 coupon in its ad to $10 off.
The question is, of course, are the prices overall higher to make up for this? Or are the stores finally competing to try to get customers? Is it because of Wegman's opening in Germantown? I'm in Kensington, so I can't imagine the stores see that as too much of a threat. |
| There's a $10 HT coupon in the weekly ad? |
The ad that was in the Post on Wednesday had this big $10 off coupon at the top. It has a fairly low minimum purchase, too. When the HT in Rockville first opened it used to have $10 off coupons routinely, but lowered it to $5 several years ago. |
| Ive been wondering this too. I even have gotten 10 off 75 at target (for grocery goods only). I think they are trying to get you to do the bulk of your shopping at their store (hence the spending limits to use coupon) bc too many ppl shop at 3 or 4 stores in order to hit weekly lose leaders. |
| Ah ha. I gave up the daily post years ago. |
