Miso - bought "brown rice" instead of shiro miso at WF last night. Does it matter?

I want to make a salad dressing that calls for shiro miso, and I also want to try miso-glazed salmon. The dressing recipe specifically calls for shiro miso.

I accidentally bought the wrong kind of miso -- I bought brown rice miso rather than the shiro miso at Whole Foods last night. Will it make a big difference if I use the brown rice miso instead? The brand is Westbrae.

Thanks!

Shiro miso is the lightest and mildest form of miso - also the least salty. So your dish may have more punchy miso flavor, and you may need to adjust the quantity of any additional salt.

just go with it! cooking isn't like baking... it's less science, more artform...
