I want to make a salad dressing that calls for shiro miso, and I also want to try miso-glazed salmon. The dressing recipe specifically calls for shiro miso.
I accidentally bought the wrong kind of miso -- I bought brown rice miso rather than the shiro miso at Whole Foods last night. Will it make a big difference if I use the brown rice miso instead? The brand is Westbrae. Thanks! |
| Shiro miso is the lightest and mildest form of miso - also the least salty. So your dish may have more punchy miso flavor, and you may need to adjust the quantity of any additional salt. |
| just go with it! cooking isn't like baking... it's less science, more artform... |
