There is a whole 'nother thread on the topic, but the Dems are bad at this that they joined the GOP in opposing a bill that has tougher penalties for crimes than virtually every red state in the country.

Name a provision in the DC Crime bill that needs to be changed.

Jury trials for misdemeanors
No minimums
High maximums

also the horrendous arrogance in calling out Biden and even Obama

Most Obama Dems will never again vote for anyone on this council

I bet that's not true. Obama got 245,000 votes in D.C. in 2008, including 98 percent of ballots cast in Ward 7 and 99 percent in Ward 8. You think most of those 245,000 will never vote for another D.C. Council incumbent?

I don’t know? How many did you have matching on Congress you tonedeaf muppet (you called it the March on Congress, too soon)? People counted very few.

Are you talking to me, the person who posted the stats on Obama's vote totals? I had nothing to do with anyone marching on Congress. I don't work in D.C. politics at all. I just like fact-checking randos on DCUM when they make absurd claims like "most Obama Democrats" won't vote for anyone on the D.C. Council anymore.

Not at all. It just seems that the Council rhetoric is so far removed from what the constituents are contending with, as to be not helpful. And then thumbing our noses at the Congress v approaching our issues with the adult humility and service orientation, is getting us into the hole we won’t climb out of soon.

To me when I listen to some of the Councilmembers impassioned rhetoric that smacks to me of ideological, many of have the same feeling of a vast chasm to what the average voter thinks as when MTG speaks. That’s a big issue.

We live in a fairly homogeneous place attitude-wise; there shouldn’t be such a confrontational attitude to everything. The only people that benefit are the salaried politicians and I’m starting to wonder if that’s deliberate because it makes no sense.

In other words, who doesn’t want the bike lanes, really? Can e find a way to do it without taking away from a group in a detrimental sense, and I think we can?!

We absolutely can! Four lanes for car users, two lanes for bicycle users, two sidewalks for sidewalk users.

Wait, but how many are parking lanes?

I really can’t be bothered to read 223 pages. Would someone please share a picture or the proposal?

Exactly. The olds should move to their death homes in Maryland so we can do our beer bike nights.
