I'm thinking I'm out, right? Organization had me in right away on a Friday, second interview last Tuesday and... nothing. Sent thank you's right away. Anything I can do at this point? I'm not inclined to "check in" for the sake of checking in, which would really be for my benefit, not theirs. Sigh.

I just got an offer.
I had the second interview and almost three weeks passed. Nothing. Then they brought me in for a third. Then nothing for 3 weeks again. Then an offer. I did a lot of online research about "time from interview to offer" and it can vary immensely. The government often takes 3 months. Private companies can routinely take 30 days in some industries. Others routinely hire on the spot or within a week. My take home was that it varies greatly from industry to industry and job to job. I would check in on Monday of next week. That makes it about 10 days which seems like a nice middle ground. |
Thanks pp and congratulations on the new job!
Yes, give it at least a few more days. For my last job, at a large non-profit, it was two months from second round to offer. That's unusual, but it can take time for the internal folks to find time to meet to discuss candidates, get feedback, etc.
I would check in. I think it's important to show that you are interested.
