| How long did it take to work? What dosage did you take? I started with 500 mg a day on Friday. Will up to twice a day in 2 weeks and also do a 10 day course of progesterone. The progesterone I took a few months ago did not seem to do the trick |
| I have PCOS and started on met in January after weaning my first. I took it for one month, had a cycle, and then ovulated on CD30 (typical for me, if I O at all) and now I am pregnant. So it worked pretty quickly. |
| Never got me to ovulate. Needed injectibles. |
| PCOS here also. One month each time on 2000 per day and progesterone. 7 months pregnant with my 2nd. |
| Op here. Thanks for all of your input! |
| I think it helped me. My husband had 1% morphology and the RE told us IVF was the only chance of conceiving. We didn't pursue that though and adopted instead. I also started taking Metformin just to keep my periods regular and ended up getting pregnant quite by surprise 3 months after we adopted our 1st child. I don't know what the deal was with Dh's sperm, but I do think the metformin played a big part. |

I have had PCOS with very irregular periods 40+ days or longer cycles, ever since I got my first periods. And when I tried to get pregnant 8 years ago doctors advised clomid, no success, but I did manage to conceive on my own multiple times every time but needed a year of trying. But I had numerous other fertility problems as well and many losses.
Finally 2 years ago, I was prescribed with metformin, 1-2 times a day that helped to regulate to 35 days most of the time, and now I take just once a day, but along with Pregnitude, I am ovulating like clockwork on day 14-16, and I am almost 40. |
PP-I have PCOS too. I can't tell from this post if you have a baby or not? I am so sorry for the losses. I couldn't tell if you were now taking it one a day to try again? |
| I think we did 7 cycles of metformin and chlomid and none worked - I ovulated but only had chemical pregnancies. Then did 1 IUI - nothing. Had success with IVF first time. My only advice to you is that give it a reasonable amount of time (less than 7 cycles) and then move on if it doesn't work. Time is precious when you have infertility issues. |

I took metformin for about a year and I did
get regular periods back which I never had before. Clomid didnt work for me so went to shady grove fertility. They scheduled that test to check your Fallopian tubes and it turned out one side was blocked. I went back in and they were able to open the blocked side. I had to put the rest of the fertility things on hold due to an unrelated medical problem but then we got pregnant on our own ( I believe because Of the metformin first and then opening the Fallopian tube) |
