The nanny called in sick and wife and kids are sick.
My wife had to stay home with the kids today. What would be a nice little present or thought to give her. |
Can you try to come home a little early? Bring dinner for everyone and take over 100% when you get home (but you're probably already planning on doing that!). A GC for a massage or mani/pedi when she's feeling better would be nice. |
Have lunch delivered to the house.
Arrive home with ready to eat dinner and do all clean up after dinner. |
Dinner! |
Bringing dinner home as early as possible! Keep the wash going, keep the kids occupied, maybe hit up red box for some kid titles and stuff for you guys too! |
Thanks all, bringing home dinner early is a great idea |
Agree with PPs. If I were in her shoes, I would be fantasizing about exactly that-- you home earlier than expected, and no more responsibilities for the rest of the day. A massage or pedicure card would just feel like another thing to schedule, another errand to run. I would want things taken OFF my plate, rather than added to it. ![]() |
Dinner and take over other kid duties |
Dinner, but also dinner for the next night or two, as well. Throw in some laundry or do some other chore that's waiting. |
OP here, now that I think about it I don't think anyone will want to eat dinner except for me so then I will look like a big ass LOL.
I think I will get home early and help out instead. |
Assume that they will be sick for a few more days...
If they can't eat. Bring home homemade chicken soup then. Do you have stuff kids will want to eat at home? Ask - would mac and cheese, ramen noodles, crackers, toast make the kids happier? Keep them hydrated. Stock bedrooms with water bottles so that they don't have to get up for a drink of water Laundry...wash, dry, fold AND put away. Dishes...wash and put away. Empty out the wastepaper basket in the rooms (cause they will be full of used tissue paper). Make sure that you replenish the tissue boxes. TLC... Let the wife sleep in... Water the plants...take the dog for a walk...if these things need to be done.. OP- you are a good man! |
Is there anything your wife likes when she's sick? My husband always wants coke, Gatorade, ramen and zestas saltines when he's sick. |
OP, you sound very sweet and thoughtful. If this were me, I would love it if you came home EARLY and then took over so I could rest. |
Get off this place and get home and take care of the kids and let your wife rest. When she feels better take her to dinner and get her and the nanny flowers for surviving it all. |
Come home from work early and cook or bring home dinner. Then do a load of laundry.
Kudos to you OP for being such a thoughtful hubby. Do you have a brother by any chance for me??! ![]() |
