I am 8 1/2 weeks and have been eating up til now to curb the nausea only.
In the last few days, however, I have noticed how insane my appetite has become: I find I am hungry just about all day long. Just out of curiousity, when did you find you began eating more than your usual amount? I am diligent about eating well, I am still exercising regularly, because I want to make sure I am not gaining unecessary weight. However, I also know my body is growing and this baby needs fuel! Any tips are appreciated. |
I think I posted the exact same thing a month or so ago. From weeks 16-20, I was starving all day/night long. Nothing I could do would keep my appetite from being out of control. I did not gain much weight during this time, either, which I thought was odd, but I was working out as usual and trying my best not to eat poorly, even if I was eating a lot! I chalked it up to feeding the baby. I am now 25 weeks and the all day hunger has stopped and my weight gain has been normal. I'm willing to bet your appetite will settle back down after awhile! |
My appetite never bloomed. Seems the kid was sitting on my stomach in such a way that it was like having the obesity surgery. Unfortunately, I was thin to begin with and I had to force myself to eat at times because I was never hungry. First time in my life I had a tough time gaining weight!
After I had him, I was ravenous. So enjoy your appetite and eat lots of good food! |
I really was never hungrier than average when pregnant. You really don't need that many more calories per day when pregnant versus not pregnant. Breastfeeding on the other hand does sometimes make me ravenous. |
FYI -- Everyone I know who described having hunger like that had a boy! |
I'm 28 weeks and STARVING! |
I'm 11 weeks and always hungry. My stomach growls - loudly - every two hours without fail. I've been like this for about three weeks. Will it end? |
I'm 29 weeks and starving too most of the time. It may be b/c it's a boy?? I used to (until 5 days ago) drink plenty of chocolate milk but since my glucose level came high, I stopped. The other day I prepared chicken pot pie for my husband and I, thinking it would last for 2 days and my husband could eat very well after 2 weeks working overseas, but....I ate it almost all!! |
Never "bloomed." Sometimes I had a craving but I never really increased my intake that much. |
I had appetite for mushrooms all my life, but I don't eat any during my pregnancy. |
I was also never hungrier than starting about 30 weeks or so. I would go from not hungry at all to dying of hunger in 20 mins! I would have to make "emergency stops" at Mc Ds or somewhere else. I carried snacks in the car but they couldn't touch the hunger I had. By the time I was 37 weeks, I was so full of baby that I couldn't eat as much. |
Same here, I started eating well once I started breastfeeding... |
