PIO Shots

So.....how bad are they? Do they hurt a lot more than the subcutaneous shots?

I did PIO for 2 weeks during my 2nd IVF and they weren't that bad. I just had a hot washcloth ready for right when my DH removed the needle. Then I slapped it on and rubbed the area to try and disperse the oil. My only issue was that after I recieved a BFN I ended up with an allergic reaction to the oil. So I wasn't pg and I still had hives for a week afterwards. Overall, they are just like everyother injection in my opinion.

I did the PIO shots myself. Here's the trick. Ice your butt/hip or site of injection for 5 minutes and jab. It was a piece of cake to me. I much rather do PIO injections than use prometrium suppositories!

I thought you're not supposed to ice before PIO because it can make the oil clump and not disperse? I'm on night 3 of PIO... they aren't THAT bad, but I wouldn't say they're as easy as subq's. It is kind of nice to have my husband in charge of them though! Pressure is off me!
