I started walking 2 miles a day and have kept it up for a month. I'm proud that I stuck with it and want to treat myself with a good pair of walking shoes/sneakers! (I know, it's not running a marathon, but it's a good start for me!)
Willing to spend a little cash. I'm thinking if it as an investment in my health. I have crappy feet and don't want to order online. I Gould use some advice from someone at the store. Has anyone had a good experience at any of these stores or any others? |

| I have crappy feet and order online because of them. Don't depend on sales people who have not worn the shoes. Buy three or four pairs from Zappos (very fast service) or Shoebuy (lots of great deals) and return the ones you don't like. You can test-walk them in your house rather than decide in 20 seconds in the store while the sales clerk waits. Seriously--I have very problematic feet and online shoe shopping changed my life. |

I went to the New Balance store. They are the only athletic shoe that fits me reliably (they make narrow and wide widths, as well as regular).
I really liked the person who helped me. He ended up recommending a running shoe, because it was more flexible than most walking shoes and less likely to aggravate some of my foot issues. You might also try Road Runner Sports. They have a store in Falls Church. I haven't been in there, but they are supposed to have a machine for measuring your foot and stride. Sounds cool to me. |

Thanks PPs!
I thought that maybe a salesperson might be able to give me some good advice. I have ordered shoes from Zappos and love Zappos. |
