We have to be at an event in brookland this weekend and DH and I thought we'd have a date night dinner somewhere convenient (we live in VA). Any suggestions for anything close or on the way there?

Little Ricky's is a little bit more date night-ish, but Menomale is excellent. San Antonio is hit or miss. Red Hen is great, but in Bloomingdale, not Brookland.
