| ......heard that there is a family that was fined $30K for hosting a highschool party in their home last month. Not sure what is most shocking....the parents or the fine? |
| Did the parents serve the alcohol or were they unaware of the party? I agree with the fine but I am wondering what happened to the kids. Were they punished in any way? |
| Fined by whom? |
| fined by county police is what I heard. |
| You have to be dumb as shit to host a party and serve underage people alcohol. It is illegal and dangerous with a huge list of liabilities. I never understand any argument for doing this, NEVER! |
| American Taliban. |
Yup. They got off easy with a $30k fine. Idiots. |
| From what I hear from friends with high school kids, most parents are not serving it, kids are sneaking it in in very creative ways and the parents aren't aware of it. I am not condoning that either as I think it would be imperative for parents to constantly check in on the party, but I am guessing that often parents have no idea there is alcohol there. |
Citations were issued to many of the kids also. Probably as many as 30 because I believe the fine for the parents is $1000 per child. |
| Was this one Wootton kids? |
doubtful since this is posted in the private school forum. |
From what I know, they often turn their head and even go away for the night (or weekend) so they don't have to listen to the blasting music. Lots of parents do that, and never admit it. "Oh yes, we'll be home." Call first, 'cause your kid is coming, thank you very much, but will be late. Ask for a parent. Sorry, not home. Oh but they said they'd be home. Yep, they all say that. Wake up, guys. Our kids are lying, and so are a lot of parents. You don't want to know which "#1" school has this reputation. Actually no school is immune to the same stuff. Just wake up, before it's too late for your kid. Yes, *your* kid. |
Did the parents grow up on the moon? |
| Any parent who allows their home to be the location of a large party for teens knows that there will be alcohol there. |
