Afterschool math enrichment

Anonymous
My DS is in 2nd grade, and struggles with math. Very often he doesn't get homework and he reads of his own initiative for about an hour. How long should we spend on enrichment work (math) after-school? Are there any good website, programs for a reluctant math student?

I went to the teacher supply stores and bought Singapore math workbooks for my child. He earned reward points for working on them for 15 minutes each day. He could cash in the points for prizes like games and toys he wanted. We had a chart so he could see his progress toward the goal of earning the prize he wanted.

There is a teacher supply store in Wintergreen Plaza on 355. There is another off of Shady Grove Rd near Gaither Road. You can also find Singapore math books online at www.Amazon.com.
