Rosemary Hills

Please share any positive or negative experiences with the school. We are 95% sure that's where we'll send our DC but would appreciate input about the school from anyone who has/had children there. Thanks!

I posted a similar query a year or so ago which you may find in the archives... I didn't get too many responses but they were all positive I think. I've also seen a lot of positive feedback on the DCUM listserv, and from neighbors. I did a tour last year (way too early, but we didn't know if we should be looking at private preKs) and liked what I saw; the school reminded me of the elementary school that I attended in a very small town, despite the fact that it's a big place. The size is still a worry for me - I can imagine my son being the holy terror on the playground with 180 kindergarteners - but all the parents who ran the tour were reassuring on that count. The school seems to have a very enthusiastic and involved parent body; if you go to the school website you'll find a link to the PTA and can join their listserv. It seems to have about 150 different parent committees, which is probably a scary sign to some but reassured me that there is a committed base of involved families.

Does anyone have any opinions about their spanish immersion program?

There's no Spanish immersion program at Rosemary Hills - that's at Rock Creek Forest.

Bumping this to see if anyone will share more Rosemary Hills experiences, particularly with the kindergarten teacher Ms. Reeder.

Thanks for any input!
