My DH is a huge Buffalo wings fan - he's originally from upstate NY. We are hosting a little sporting event this weekend and want to serve wings. Any suggestions for super awesome Buffalo wings? We can pick up and are willing to travel to get great ones, but ideally from a place not too far from Rosslyn/Georgetown.
Thanks! |
| anywhere near Courthouse/Rosslyn/Georgetown/Clarendon/Ballstone/etc. would be great! |
| I actually like Mister Days wings. People also like Hard Times. |
| WHy bother with the chicken? Why not just coat a butter stick in hot sauce and deep fry it? |
But we want Buffalo wings, not Buffalo butter. |
| PP who recommended Mister Days and Hard Times here...I haven't eaten them in about a year but they're a guilty pleasure! |
| I think there is a BW3 in Ballston now. |
| Thank you! We will give one of those a try. |
Don't you know how Buffalo wings are prepared? They basically ARE Buffalo butter. |
So? I don't think OP is going on an all-wing diet. |
That does sound delicious. |
| Not the same as Buffalo, but Bonchon chicken at Pershing/Washington is excellent. I think they're better than Buffalo wings, personally... |
| Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in Herndon is prob a little far for you, but it's owned by a Buffalo transplant. The wings are awesome and they also have poutine. Its worth a trip at some point since your DH is from Buffalo. |
They're good, but that's one of the few foods that I can eat a small portion (which is probably 600 calories) and already be hungry as I'm paying the check. |

Op here. My DH did like the wings from Mister Days. He said they were acceptable. Sounds like he needs a road trip out to Herndon.
I'm not from NY so I will have to try Bonchon sometime.
