Well, the new college ranking list is officially out. Not really any surprises on the list a few shifts this notwithstanding the supposed change in how the rankings are determined. Thoughts? Oh dear God this is the third thread on this topic and it barely merits one. |
As noted in the WaPo article, biggest movers were Penn State (3rd among B1G) and Boson University. Wake Forrest moved into the Top 25. |
If Wake moved in to the Top 25, another school must have been bumped out, but it's not clear which school fell. |
+1 |
Among the schools NOT in the top 25, Michigan is definitely one that WAS in the top 25 at one time, but I don't think that was last year. |
Count the total number of schools that have a ranking of one through 23 and I think that you will find that there are more than 25 schools in the top 25. Wake Forrest might have been added without taking anyone out.
For what it's worth, several college professors that I've talked to say that the real shift in quality occurs in about the mid 30s range of the US news rankings. |
Hold the phone - HYP, Columbia, Chicago, Stanford, MIT, Duke, and Penn top the list? So unbelievable, so revolutionary, so . . . wait a second, isn't this list almost identical to last year's and the year before, and, well, the last decade's rankings? Now I have to anxiously await the law school rankings to see if Georgetown still rounds out the "top 14." So excited!! |
