| Please help. I know lots of people do it and I have some relatives in DC. Anyone want to give some hints? |
| OFFS. |
| Move to DC. Otherwise you are a thief and a liar. |
| You're talking private, right? |
|
Really someone from DC needed to create a troll to test the "omg all the people from PG are taking coveted spots in our DC schools" hysteria????
Please go look at test scores for your top performing DC schools. You will find a number of PG county schools that exceed those scores. Basically, outside of the people who were wrongfully pushed out of DC from gentrification, no one is interested in navigating the disaster that is DC public schools. |
| I know a family who PAID for Duke Ellington . |
I doubt that top PG County schools top DC's JKLM. Those schools are filled with kids that have among the highest NAEP scores in the entire country. |
| Hahaha, what a short time ago people were spotting DC plates dropping off at PG publics and complaining. They want their time to gloat... |
RIGHT. This is entire messageboard is a goofy mix of entertaining, informative and just plain ol' weird... hahahahahahahaha ... I love it! |

| for D.C. private, depends on the age...those school require WISC-IV for younger kids and SSAT for older kids. Entry years are 4,6,7,9 grades. Start studying a year in advance for SSAT -buy study guide or hire an experienced tutuor. Your kid needs to be able to learn at an accelerated pace as most of these schools teach a grade level or two ahead. Go to the open houses with your kid to get a feel for the school culture to see which one is a good fit. Have kid take SSAT in November, schedule interviews, apply to a couple of schools. Practice interviewing skills w/your child and give plenty of encouragement....it can be stressful, however, we framed it for kid as an adventure where the schools were competing to offer a slot. Child got accepted to several and is really happy at new school this fall- parents and kids are welcoming and education is top notch. |
| OP, either move into DC or investigate how to pay tuition. |
