Does anyone know the cost of infant care at the World Banks
Daycare?? |
| $2200/month |
Yikes!! Why would people pay that when they can get an in home provider for half of that amount? And less kids in the group? |
| Convenience of location, proven track-record, regulated environment, good management etc.. |
| You can't get full-time (e.g.) 10-hour a day care for that in home with a legal caretaker. It's cheaper than a nanny if you have only one child. Not such a good deal if you have two or more children. A nanny is a better option. |
| But how do you know that a nanny offers superior care when you're not around? At least in a daycare, there are tons of other caretakers around to help out and working in a group provides some relief that a nanny wouldn't have. Also, a nanny does not necessarily provide constant attention --- I have observe many nannies on their phones ignoring their charges. |
For what age? |
| 3 months to 12 months. There center goes up to Pre-K. |
NP here i know what you mean. Cost aside, I just don't see why so many people prefer nannies around here. I guess it is a Southern thing? Or maybe I am just a daycare person. It seems safer, more palatable to me. |
| Because people who work at the World Bank make a ton of money? |
Meh, they use one of the management daycare companies so it's not that the care or the care givers are superior, it's just convenient. |
I used the world bank day care until five days ago. I used it for the convenience. I also liked the teachers a lot. I went to see my daughter at lunch. At the time, they had a one to three ratio in the infants' room. |
I forgot to add, then followed then the Reggio Emilia philosophy. |
Why did you leave? Did your child age out? |
Yes, my kid aged out. |
