Urgent Question: Previous Salary

Hi there, need some urgent help. Found a new job, negotiated a good salary as I have another offer.

HR lady insists that I disclose previous salary before proceeding with paperwork. I really don't want to disclose, but dont want to get confrontational. How to best handle this situation?

Do you have the offer in writing? If so, I don't see the harm in disclosing. Why don't you want to disclose?

Am not OP, but I'd feel it's invasive. What's the point, other than possibly asserting an upper hand when you think you can get away with it?

Agree if you eve offer in writing, jut disclose.

say that your company has a policy aboutnot sharing salaries

they are trying to decide what to offer you. Include EVERYTHING in your pay--bonuses, 401k matches, commute benefits, etc...and then give a range.
