any downsides to taking prometrium while pregnant?

After ttc for 15 or 16 months, DH and I just got our first positive hpts. Confirmed with a blood test today. Doc says my levels are all good, but still wants to put me on prometrium "just-in-case."
Are there any risks or downsides to taking prometrium during early pregnancy? |

No. Many women, myself included, take it in the first trimester.

Prometrium is synthetic progesterone. I took it because my progesterone levels were exceptionally low. Did your Dr tell you where your levels are? If the progesterone is low, I would definitely take it. If not, then I'd skip it. |
