Baby Jogger Recommnedations?

Anonymous
We're interested in purchasing a baby jogger that allows us to jog with our newborn son as soon as it is recommended by our pediatrician. We know it will be a while.

Do folks have recommendations as to the brand, type, and cost? We run between 3-5 miles/run so we would love any thoughts on something durable.

The BOB Revolution is great, but if you are a serious runner I recommend the BOB Ironman. It's awesome, really. I LOVE mine.

Chariot Carriers makes great strollers, and they are very versatile and durable. IMO its a little more professional that the BOB.

The most popular is this:

You buy the chassis and then the attachments you would need. There is also and infant swing and baby supporter for younger than 12 mo.

If you don't want to spend a lot of $$ (especially on the BOB), go for the Graco jogging stroller. It has some of the same bells & whistles as the upscale ones (canopy, cup holders, hand brake, foot brakes, adjustable seat, movable tray, etc.), but much cheaper.

You also might want to figure out what you want - do you prefer the third wheel to swivel? Are you tall and therefore need the handlebar a little higher up? Do cup holders, mesh storage bag, under seat storage make a huge difference or are you going with versatility?

If you go with the Graco, it does not come with a run-away wrist strap so you have to call and request one (it's free though).

Also, take a look on Craigslist. There are some junky jogging strollers, BUT there are also some real gems (that is how I found mine - still in the box) too.

Also, a rain cover is multi-functional. Get one to ward off the wind and snow flurries (like yesterday) not just the rain.

Your local bike shop can help you tighten the brakes when it comes to assembling the stroller too - just FYI.
