'21-22' DMV LACROSSE OUTLOOK

One tie and two loses.
Everyone played evenly. Young D.

Not sure if their current varsity defense who was at this tournament is young or just really short?

Gonzaga has something to prove and looks like they may do it. Lost by 1 to Haverford best team I observed over the weekend.

Gonzaga has nothing to prove.
They have been a top three team in the area for the last ten years except last year.
Loaded 2023s and 2024s.

Gonzaga is not a top three team in the area. Maybe in the lax weak WCAC (besides SJC), but definitely not if you count the IAC. SJC, Prep, Landon, Bullis, PVI, Dematha, are likely all ahead of Gonzaga. An interesting match up might be Gonzaga vs STA.

Gonzaga beat dematha 15-1 in fall ball. Dematha is horrible now. Gonzaga is also much better then PVI. PVI’s best player transferred back to public. The Rutgers commit.

Still think Gonzaga vs STA would be interesting. Neither team would beat the big dogs, but they would be competitive with each other.

Why did the Head Coach step down?

Why was their D at this tournament young? They have plenty of upperclassmen defenders.

Their best defensemen are younger.
Expect to see a few 2024s starting.

Gonzaga defensively looked good at the Mad Lax event at Landon but offensively the Eagles struggled to score.

Haverford was one of the best teams I saw play all day, they had weapons all over the field.

From the IAC, the team that really surprised me was Bullis (2-1 for the day) Offensively they had players at the attack and midfield position who could score and their defense was very physical. I don't think anyone from the IAC should write them off for the 2022 season; I know Bullis graduated a very talented 2021 class but they look like they can compete with anyone. Landon (2-1 for the day) looked solid from all reports but their offense might be a concern. Saint Stephens (0-3 for the day) was the biggest disappointment as they have a very senior-heavy team this Spring.

Does anyone have a recap of how the event went at St John's?

when the prep dads are this quiet, I am going to guess the Lil Hoyas did not play up to their expectations.

Culver went 2-1. Wins over Hill Red and Prep. L to SJ.
I think GP tied IMG and lost to Culver and Hill White but could be wrong
Riverside won their games
SP beat DeMatha, lost to Riverside. Don’t know about their third.

Can anyone else chime in?

Says the 2024 parent.

Sorry, but this is blatantly false and a little ignorant. You do realize there is a returning 2022 starting defenseman who is a Navy commit and a returning 2023 defenseman who is a West Point commit. There is also a 2023 DC Dog defenseman, several 2023 DC Express defenseman, and a 2023 transfer defenseman. The majority of 2024 defenseman are little, like 5'10 or shorter and they will have to beat out all the stronger and bigger upperclassmen first for spots.

Prep lacrosse is making a living off of transfers!
I love it.
