St. John. pronounced stin-jin
Father was a James Joyce scholar. Terrible name. Worse dad. I wonder if he goes by John now. |
| Adley (girl) |
| There was a family in Fairfax whose kids were named Quantum, Quark and Quasar. Presumably the dad was some kind of scientist. |
Is it supposed to be pronounced Sin Jin? |
+1 I've heard Sinjin in movies or maybe it was a show? I don't think it was a bad name. I like unique names so kids aren't relegated to skinny Miles, Old Miles or Miles S |
Quark rolls out like Clark. Quasar sets the kid up for too much expectation |
I knew a kid growing up named Qasar (he was Pakistani-American, pronounced KAH-ser) and teachers would always call the poor kid Quasar. |

I really dislike the Greek and Roman mythology names. I’ve met two kids named Apollo and one named Atlas.
The oddest name I’ve personally encountered is Fenix. |
| I know a lot of my friends are on DCUM, so I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned my daughter's name - Amethyst |
"Stin"-jin is weird- it's usually pronounced sin-jin. Apparently it's similar to how Sinclair evolved from St. Clair. |
