That’s ridiculous. Teachers are still getting paid, even with the snow day. And sending out a few assignments is hardly a crushing work load. |
| Interesting thing would be if they did hand out assignments, would they be graded? We were informed we were not allowed to grade any of the summer based reading assignments because we had no way of knowing who actually could do them over the summer. Ended up just being a week of ungraded work the first week of the year that we never even looked at. |
| Meanwhile the county still hasn't plowed my road and the website lied and said it was plowed |
| What is the chance of this Friday closed, open on time or 2 hours delay? |
I'd say best case scenario is a delay although i don't see what 2 extra hours will accomplish. It would be more about not making the HS and MS kids stand out at bus stops or walk in the dark with these conditions. |
We went to our kids school to sled and saw two stuck plows(one skidsteer one county truck). They had to bring in another big truck and a bunch of shovels to dig out the wheels and tow it out of the drift. That set them back three hours and so they only got half the parking lots done that day. |
More likely they did plow it but you're not happy with how much pavement you can see. |
Right? CO should be taken to task on this, they just like to give themselves extra days off. |
That's a good reason not to wait to get started on clearing schools. Why didn't they start on monday? |
| I'm about to go drive around and see which areas in Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village need the most attention. Will start doing ice removal and clearing of those areas at 10 AM if anyone is interested in joining me. Again, I'll pay for lunch for anyone who comes. Shoot me a call or message at (240) 308-8306. |
Why are you like this? Our road is clear finally but a lot of roads are unplowed or insufficiently plowed. The first pass is often packing people’s cars in with more ice. |
Because the roads were impassable |
DP. So you dig your car out. A few neighbors and I dug out a dozen cars that were packed in by snow plows yesterday. Why is there such helplessness around this? |
You want a cookie for your heroism? Ice is heavy! |
We are fine, and didn’t need to rush out. The plow came again 12 hours later and spared a bunch of backs. My point is that this is very tough snow and it is a tough job. |
