Truly Terrible parents also write blog posts full of Republican propaganda and blatant lies. |
|
Crazy bike people also like to push Republican lies about "a wider Virginia effort to hold math learners back".
|
But not in math. That’s why they aren’t published on the pathway, that’s why they were scrambling over the summer to redo placement |
There were already 2+ levels of math. |
Not for 6th grade, there were 2: pre-algebra (covers math 6,7,8) and math 6 |
Just own your APE MAGA true nature. Be true to it. Be proud of it! If it's so ok, there should be nothing to hide right? Why hide here? |
How do you know? Duran started intensified classes in middle school in all the other subjects, which the previous superintendent refused to do for years. On his own. No law. |
You are so APE. |
A lot of things are done over the summer. That proves nothing. If it was really in response to the law, why did they wait until the summer and not respond right after the law was passed? hmmm.... |
Your claims ARE certainly ridiculous lies. |
Yes, they did say it as Youngkin's law, scroll back yourself to find it. |

Is this it?
https://www.baconsrebellion.com/virginia-pushes-accelerated-math-enrollment/ It reads like someone who doesn't know what's going on in APS. It discusses the need for access to algebra in middle school. But, before this change, APS already offered a lot of access to algebra in middle school. The kids in the most advanced pathway took algebra in 7th. The kids in the second most advanced path took algebra in 8th. The kids in the regular path take it in 9th. I think this author has his own kids in private so he doesn't know what he doesn't know about APS. He also has no background or expertise in math education. Not who we want pushing policy in APS! |
They did propose it. You have to use the wayback machine to find it because it's otherwise been scrubbed. This video is an hour long, it's the initial VMPI proposal. They pushed heterogenous groupings (no tracking) and advanced classes starting in 11th grade. Some moments are at 20 minutes they talk about not breaking kids out by ability. At 24 minutes they take a poll to see if people agree with them and clearly do not get the answers they want. At 28 there is more talk about eliminating tracking. Those are just a few points, if you watch the whole video they are clearly proposing no tracking or advanced classes until 11th grade. The gaslighting as if this never happened is so crazy. https://web.archive.org/web/20210502122628/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siS8jlTcUzo |
he didn’t start them. They brought them back after parents pushed for years. |
