S/O of the post about kids washing faces in the morning. Is it better for kids to bathe twice a day? Also, my almost 2 yr old still only take a full "bath" like once a week. Every day it is more of a "sponge bath" sitting in the sink. Is that bad? |
Your 2 yr old fits in the sink? Must be a big sink! |
Almost 2, kinda small. And yes the sink is pretty big. |
3 yr old takes a bath every night. He's outside everyday unless it's raining or really hot/cold. Summertime also means sunscreen and bug spray (almost everyday for both). He gets hot and sweaty easily, so I can't imagine not giving him a bath at night. |
I think a kid bathing twice a day is one bath too many. Unless there was some sort of huge mess. |
Twice a day seems excessive. Our baby bathes once a day (sunscreen in the summer, plus she is a really messy eater and ends up with food in her hair, her ears, etc.). But I know people who bathe every other day, and their kids seem perfectly clean. |
We bathe everyday (adults + kids). I've done a daily bath since kids were about 1. From crawling, to playgrounds, sunblock, bugspray, chlorine, etc...I just wanted to get clean bodies before they get into bed. Yes, during the winter we don't need to daily but just for the habit, we continue to do so (and also because we are in school year activities - basketball, soccer, etc.). |
Once a week is fine. Every day is entirely unnecessary. |
my 8-mo-old bathes about every other day, though i always wipe down her face and hands if there has been sunscreen. i always figured we will up it to everyday once she is walking on her own (and thereby getting into more messes), at least during the summer. i can't imagine twice a day unless there has been some extraordinary mess. |
Why does the kid need two baths a day? Sleeping does not make them dirty. |
Once a week is gross, in my opinion. There are oils, dirt, germs, grease, etc. that need to be washed off. Yuck. |
You would bathe if you just came home from the pool? Interesting. Those are the days I say, "No, no need for a bath, we just came home from the pool." |
Everyday isn't too much when there's sunscreen, bug spray, dirt, and sweat involved. Unless your kids don't go outside at all, I can't see how a weekly bath is an option. I'm not a germaphobe, but a once-a-week bath for an active preschooler? |
Yep. Ewww. Kids have awful hygiene. Pee and poop themselves if really young. Get dirty and sweaty when they play. Eat with their hands. Pick their noses, sneeze, and cough all over each other. Even with handwashing, nose, and hiney wiping they still need baths to wash all of that off. |
Lazy and gross. |
