Warner Brothers Harry Potter tour near London

Anonymous
My kids are age 5 & 7 and haven't really gotten into the movies or books. They know "Harry Potter" but don't know the full story, etc.

Wondering if the tour would take off some of the "magic" behind the movie and spoil it for them.

Has anyone visited?

I was there a few weeks ago. My kids are a bit older. It is for super fans. We have not read all the books or watched all the movies, and there weren't any spoilers for us, but I don't think it's worth the trip if you're not fans. There are no rides, mostly props, sets, costumes and behind the scenes demos of how they filmed. You must have tickets in advance, can't buy at the door. We love HP and it was over the top for us. I think it would seem strange if they haven't read the books. Plus getting there and back takes quite a while.

Just took our 8 & 6 year olds and had a fantastic time! But they are HUGE fans and have seen all the films (several times!) and read some of the books (older one) or had them read to them (younger one).

So, I'd save it for later when they know a lot more about it - probably a waste until then.

It is not worth it if they are not fans. The tour was great but like pp said it was props, sets, and costumes. It is fairly costly and you have to take a suburban rail out there which is expensive and time consuming.
