| I did not see him all evening yesterday, so I thought he was probably sleeping somewhere, but I thought that was weird since he usually walks by after a while. I was tired so I fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 1:00am , still no signs of the cat, so I went upstairs and opened all the closet doors since sometimes he gets into a closet and cant get out, still no signs. Since I was tired I decided to go to bed and as soon as I opened my bedroom door, I heard a small faint meow but I couldn’t tell where it was coming from, if it was the bedroom or closets on the hall so I turned on all the lights and called out his name, he did not say anything and I did not hear any movements. Since I was extremely tired at that point, I just went to sleep. This morning , I woke up, open all the doors and all the closets, still nothing, while usually as soon as I open my bedroom door when I wake up, he comes out running. I called his name, still nothing. I am at work not but I am worried, where the heck is my cat? This is not like him at all, he never hides. |
| What on earth did people do before the Internet? |
|
Uh...You HEARD a small faint meow...and you still went to work?? Obviously your kitty is in distress OP. I couldn't leave my home knowing my poor kitty was in such distress.
I hope your kitty is okay. Please keep us posted when you get home and reassure us that he or she is okay. I will be on here checking to make he or she is. |
| It sounds like he might be stuck somewhere. Do you have any holes in your drywall or any way he could access air vents? If he's not back when you get home from work you should ask for help. If he doesn't have access to water or is very sick you'll need to find him soon. |
| Do you have a drop ceiling with moveable sections? |
| In a wall, stuck. Happened to our cat once. |
|
Poor thing! Find your cat!
Could be in a wall. Are there any access points, especially in basement? My cat was stuck once between the radiator and the wall. Luckily it was not the season to have the heat on. She must have been walking across the top of the radiator and just slipped. Another time, when I was moving into a new apartment, I couldn't find my cat after I had brought all of my things in. Turns out that in her fear/uncertainty of the unfamiliar surroundings, she pawed open the cabinet door under the bathroom vanity and it swung shut behind her. |
| One time my cat fell behind my dresser and was literally hanging midway down as he got caught between the dresser and wall about half way down. You should really look everywhere until you find him. |
|
Could you bring in a (nice) dog to smell and find the cat? |
|
I thought ours was gone. Hit the road. Probably coyote bait.
Then I opened the place mat drawer and found him fast asleep. |
OP Here- thank you all for your concerns, I found my cat Got home after work and he was just laying there in the middle of the living room. I was so happy and shocked!! Glad he is okay but have no idea where he was, he never hides so this was a scary episode
