upholstery fabric

Have a sofa that is upholstered in what looks like a very fine diagonal corduroy (synthetic, not cotton) - is there a name for the fabric? Would like to find a similar replacement but no idea how to search - is anyone familiar with this type of upholstery, is there a name for it?

Sounds like a microfiber.

I thought microfiber is always smooth, sort of like suede, this is textured but thanks, I'll take a look.

Really fine corduroy is called narrow-wale. Is it like this?

If it is diagonal, that probably has more to due with the upholstering job than with the fabric itself.

Corduroy textured microfiber suede - is that how you'd describe it?

Nope, microfiber is not always smooth. The fact you say it is a synthetic is what makes me think it is a microfiber.
