| What grade is your DC in? My son hated writing until 5th grade. In 5th grade, they focus a ton on writing, mainly because there is a writing SOL in 5th. He totally blossomed in writing. Before then, I had to sit with him, and it was like pulling teeth every time he had an essay. By the end of 5th, he could whip out a 5-paragraph essay with no trouble (and he did great on the SOL). Also, I credit the curriculum more than the individual teacher in this case because I was generally unimpressed with his 5th grade teacher. |
