The sagging sisters... will they get better after nursing?

Anonymous
I just looked at a few pictures of me taken last week and I can't believe how saggy my boobs are. I knew they were more droopy than before I had DC but these photos said it all. They are practically sitting in my lap! Anyways since I'm a first time mom and currently nursing, I wanted to find out from people who have weaned if the girls will go back to their original position (or close to it) or should I just start saving up for surgery now?

I nursed my first dc for 13 months and when they finally went back to normal, they were just not the same. I'd describe them as flaccid. I'm currently on month 6 of nursing dc2, so I can't imagine how bad they'll look when I'm done with this one.

Pumped for 12 months - nipples and boobs no longer pre-baby condition.

In fact, after I was completely done lactating, my boobs sorta shriveled up and look smaller than before. So I went from porn star boobs to old lady boobs in 13 months - oh the things people never tell you about motherhood

start saving for surgery the boob lift is a wonderful thing!

No, they are not going to get better unless you have awesome genes. The best you can do is to loose all the weight and then do lots of upper body/chest weight training. They'll look okay, but for most women they just aren't going to look the same as pre-baby without surgery.

No, nursing is the kiss of death for them.

I'm afraid I must concur. I breastfed my two kids for about a year and half each, and it's a sorry state of affairs. Saggy and wrinkly-looking. Oh well.

The fact that we care of course confirms that in reality we are holding up immature females as the ideal of beauty in our society. Every time I watch Desperate Housewives I remind myself that these actresses are not normal. Much as I love them all, they are in reality deformed because they don't look like normal women who have had children.

Sometimes that works to make me feel better. Other times not.

start spending more on better bras. Sorry.

its actually not the nursing, but the pregnancy that kills them. i'd get some fancy push-up bras and try not to get too overweight. small boobs tend to be perkier i think.

I nursed two kiddos for a year each. My boobs are less full and the skin is less elastic. I bought some good bras which help a lot.

They will get "better," just not nearly like pre-baby.

I was thinking this same thing, OP! Sigh. Should have kissed the "sisters" goodbye when I could have.

I've read its not the nursing but the pregnancy that gets em, but come on, with all the action and suction and pulling, etc. I have to think the nursing contributed.

When I said I was nervous about them looking so saggy, my mom got offended and said she nursed for 7 months and hers are still "fantastic." So I have to hope genetics will play some part.

My mother's boobs look awful.

Your boobs will NOT get better. They will get flatter and longer and flappier. If this is news to you then I don't know what to say. Spend 15Gs (I did) get a lift and a tummy tuck while your at it. All better now.
