My son just started Kindergarten and is enrolled in the aftercare program. We received a flyer about after school language clubs (e.g., French, Spanish or Chinese) one day a week. These are the only after school clubs for those in K. Are these worthwhile, i.e., should I spend more money to enroll him in a language club? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! |
Bump. Thanks. |
Depending on the school you are in, you are likely to get more flyers, etc. containing info about the other various activities.
For example, Mad Science, Round House Theater, Creative Arts. School just started -- there is more stuff to come. My kid started FLES (spanish) in kindergarten. She is now in the 3rd grade. She does aftercare and a host of the other activities depending on what she is into at the moment. |
DS did FLES (Spanish) in 2nd grade and did not enjoy it very much, however he did enjoy chess club as well as hands-on science.
If money and time is not an issue - it is an easy way to keep them engaged and introduce them to new things. It allows us to figure out where a child's interest and talent may lie. |
