| Do any of you landlords or tenants do direct deposit for rent? Do any of you deposit it in a landlord account at a branch rather than mail a check? Anyone use paypal? |
|
As a landlord -- my tenant does direct deposit into an account that is solely for that property.
We are also tenants and we send a check. |
|
don't use paypal there may be fees
Another option is to to bill pay and it will mail to your landlord I have tried to get tenants to direct deposit but they seems to be afraid of it. Even just transferring money online. |

My tenant does Bill Pay from Bank of America, it takes a few days to come through but she just sets it up for earlier than it's due.
We set up a direct transfer the last time we paid rent, it was so easy and mindless. |
| If your tenants will do it, direct deposits work great. We had a tenant that did this and it was, in the words of a PP, mindless. Our current tenants tried (several years ago) with their bank and could not get it set up. They do a bill pay that mails it from their bank and it arrives usually a couple of days early, but then we still need to get to the actual bank. |
| Mine do bill pay thru their bank, shows up in my checking account. |
| As a tenant, I LOVED the option of direct deposit. |
| Mine do direct deposit into my checking account for the property. |
| Our current tenants prefer to send a check. I don't mind. It's always early or on time and then I use my mobile app to deposit it. |
| Seriously, who still uses checks in 2013?! |
|
I use checks - to pay the tutor, the housekeeper, the landscaper....
there are still plenty of times when paying by checks is almost the only choice as I am not going to send $100 in cash every month to our lawn guy :O |
