| There seems to be an inordinate number of boys applying to K this year. Our DC's preschool class is majority boys by a wide margin. We've had two playdates, and there were mostly boys. Anyone else see the same dynamic? Are the boys at a distinct disadvantage for admission? Are all the schools looking to balance gender, or are there any that don't focus on gender balance and admit based on best fit? |

| Last year there were too many girls. I guess it all balances out somehow, but if you have a kid of the "wrong" gender your particular year, it's just one more thing you have to try not to think about! (Yes, we had a girl applying for K last year.) Good luck OP and don't stress! |
