Obviously Ganga should be gang

appalling. One must wonder why this is so common over there. Probably the Indian males are sexually repressed and the preference for males means there is a very marked gender imbalance in the country - too many guys and not enough females

Meanwhile, we have several cases in the news of gang rapes happening at American colleges and universities. This isn't an Indian thing, it's a violent male thing.

And let's not forget the U.S. military that saw a 37% increase in sexual assaults to 26,000 cases last year.

I have decided to find a self-defense class for my 15-year old daughter, and I don't mean martial arts. I mean a good old fashioned beat-down, protect yourself class where you can learn immediate protection moves like eye gouging, crotch crushing, bone breaking if you can't get away.

I know, I know...I'm such a refined, gentle mom.

There's the Vanderbilt case. (http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/16/justice/tennessee-vanderbilt-football-probe)

I think there's also one at UNC, where the victim was actually sued because she violated school policy in reporting her rape. I may have the school wrong, but she's appealing it.

thnks I figured it was something like that - from the article "None of the three faces charges of rape or another sex crime tied to the June 23 incident. They are accused over their actions after the alleged crime."

A far cry from the gang rapes in India where one unfortunate victim died.

Honestly, coming from a military family, I think that increase has more to do with better reporting and the military doing more outreach to victims than it does an actual increase in victims.

The reporting has gotten more accurate. The numbers of assaults has not actually grown.

Get your girl a gun. After the rape she goes back to her room. Grab the gun come back and shoot the guy. A string of those will stop these assholes.
