anyone sending kids to Ivymount through MCC-Beverly Farms after care by bus?

It seems like they have a pretty good number of kids signed up but was curious to hear parents' experiences. I like that they are open most of the time that MCPS are closed. We won't always send our child there during school breaks but it's a great option. He is an only child so I like that he has kids to play with after school.

Do you mean Beverly Farms aftercare?

I don't thing Ivymount has anything to do with this, other than the facility itself.

Is this for elementary school age children? I thought that only pre-schoolers were at BF? Thanks for the info.

16:54 here. Nevermind. I just checked their website. Did not realize they did school-age aftercare.

I'm not sure what your question is exactly, because it seems like you're weighing whether to send your child there but the bus part is throwing me off. Anyway...yes, I am sending my DS to Ivymount by bus for the Beverly farms aftercare program. he just started kindergarten today. He went to the summer adventures camp at Ivymount all summer and had a great time so I feel very positive about the aftercare overall. And the MCCA staff have been wonderful to work with, both at Ivymount and at Beverly Farms itself, where my DD is doing kids klub.

PP--OP here. You are right. I re-read what I posted and it made no sense I was just nervous before school started and felt like I was the only one. I was worried about him knowing to get off at Ivymount but he is doing just great Will you be sending your child there most of the time that school is closed? I will bring mine on Rosh Hashanah for part of the day. Wondering what they do for school-aged kids when they are there all day.

LOL! Yes, nerves can make for some disjointed posts. No worries. Glad that your son is doing well at Ivymount. I won't be sending mine there on Rosh ha Shana b/c we're celebrating it. But in our old neighborhood, we did always send our kids to their aftercare programs for the full day on days when school was closed (except for jewish holidays). They run the full-day program the same way they run the camp program. They have lots of playtime outside, lots of activities set up inside, and I would guess they might take the kids to cabin john park for lunch or something if it's a nice day. They do a great job keeping the kids engaged. I liked our old preschool/aftercare, but I really love the Beverly Farms/Ivymount program.
