Last year my 13 year old refused to take his lunch bag and either just put each individual food item in his backpack or, when I insisted, carried it in a safeway bag. What lunch-bags are other teen boys carrying to school? I typically buy lunch bags at Target - just the plain ones.
My 14 year old uses an LLBean plain blue soft-sided lunch box.
built ny bag in black.

Did you ask him why he doesn't want a sack?
You mean the plain brown sacks they can pitch, right? Not a plain reusable sack. A reusable sack isn't cool (yeah, for some kids it's all save the earth - but not all) Is he not carrying a brown sack to hid the fact that he's not buying? Does he have a crowded backpack and not want to carry anything extra in it? Does he get in trouble with you if he losses stuff? have him watch breakfast club - he could always carry a brown grocery bag! I think if you communicate with your son to find the root cause of his refusal you could find a solution. |

Mine buys school lunch but for camp he refused any bag. Just threw the sandwiches, fruit a d drinks in his backpack.
Mine won't carry anything reusable. He'll carry a brown paper lunch bag that he can toss when he is finished with lunch. He's not embarrassed by anything. He just doesn't want to deal with having to carry the bag back to the classroom.
My teen boys each take a black lunch bag from Land's End - it looks like a bag, not a lunchbox.
My teens carry brown plain paper bags.

I'm trying to imagine the teen boys that carry LL Bean or Pottery Barn lunchbags? Guessing they're not the most popular boys in school... cough *dorks* cough.
